Training for Intervention ProcedureS

Cheryl A. Cowan

Certified TIPS® Trainer Woodbury, CT

The TIPS® (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) training course is a program designed to teach participants to prevent intoxication, drunk driving and underage drinking among the people to whom they sell or serve alcohol. This program addresses concerns specific to restaurants, hotels, bars, nightclubs, banquets, private parties and other on-premise liquor license holders where alcohol is served by the drink.

Being a certified TIPS® trainer, I can present the class at your establishment where your entire staff can be trained at once, or you can send parts of your staff over time to one of my classes at a central location where I'll be training people from many establishments at once.

Individual bartenders and servers are welcome to sign up for TIPS® training, even if your employer is not interested in the benefits TIPS® provide. Earning a TIPS® certification places you above many other servers and bartenders in the industry, giving you an edge over the competition in today's job market. A TIPS® certification also reduces your personal exposure by teaching you how to spot the early signs of alcohol intoxication.

What is TIPS®?

TIPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) is the global leader in education and training for the responsible service, sale, and consumption of alcohol. Proven effective by third-party studies, TIPS is a skills-based training program that is designed to prevent intoxication, underage drinking, and drunk driving.
